RINCON, GA – The Effingham County Industrial Development Authority (ECIDA) is thrilled to announce the opening of Aertssen Logistics’ new 380,800-square-foot equipment processing center at the Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub (SGIH) in Rincon, Georgia. This state-of-the-art facility marks Aertssen Logistics’ first U.S. operation and is set to create over 60 new jobs in the local community.

Aertssen Logistics, a division of the Belgian Aertssen Group NV, brings its expertise in the precise transportation, handling, final assembly, and management of construction, agriculture, and aerial lift equipment to North America. The new Rincon facility is designed as a central hub for equipment processing, providing a wide range of services, including inspection, repair, technical assembly, and both indoor and outdoor storage. Situated on 35 acres, the facility is equipped to manage the complex assembly and processing needs of a diverse array of heavy machinery and equipment.

“The establishment of Aertssen Logistics USA in Effingham County is a significant milestone for our industrial community,” said Brandt Herndon, CEO of the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority. “This facility is not just about logistics; it’s about precision, quality, and innovation in equipment processing. We are proud to welcome Aertssen to our community and excited about the opportunities this brings for skilled labor and economic growth.”

The successful launch of this facility was supported by key partners, including the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Power’s Economic Development team and the Georgia Ports Authority, whose collaborative efforts were instrumental in bringing Aertssen Logistics to Effingham County.

The opening of this facility marks the completion of Phase I at the 2,600-acre Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub, with significant capacity for future expansion. SGIH is a public-private partnership between the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority, The Broe Group’s real estate affiliate Broe Real Estate Group, and its transportation affiliate OmniTRAX. The hub’s strategic location positions it as an ideal site for advanced manufacturing and equipment processing operations.

“Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub continues to demonstrate strong geographic and multi-modal benefits to our partners,” said Broe Real Estate Group Vice President Scott Rogers. “We are proud that SGIH was identified as the optimal site for Aertssen’s first US facility, and we are pleased to support such a smooth market entry.”

As Aertssen Logistics USA embarks on this new venture, the company is already planning additional equipment processing centers in Baltimore, Houston, and Tacoma, Washington. These expansions align with Aertssen’s goal to double the number of machines it processes annually by 2030, responding to the robust demand for efficient, high-quality logistics and equipment processing solutions.

"Our customers and employees are at the core of everything we do," says Sam Aertssen, Director of Aertssen Logistics. "While we've had a strong start in the USA, it's crucial to sustain this growth responsibly. I am incredibly grateful for the journey we've undertaken so far and look forward to what lies ahead."
