Industry and Research Manager, Alex Conarton, works to execute the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority’s (ECIDA) comprehensive existing industry and workforce development activities, to include regular communications with existing industries in the community.  Her focus includes working with local industries to ensure that they have access to and knowledge of available resources, programs, and partnerships to help them succeed and grow in Effingham County.

Alex recently graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics with an emphasis in international business.  During her time at Georgia Southern, Alex was actively involved in the Student Government Association, her sorority Zeta Tau Alpha, and other organizations within the Parker College of Business.  Alex served as the economic development intern for the ECIDA for 6 months, supporting the Director of  Economic Development and Existing Industry.  She also served as a trade services research intern for World Trade Center Savannah, conducting research for international businesses looking to locate in the Savannah region and companies seeking to do business internationally.

Alex is an active member of the Georgia Economic Developers Association.
